| I’m Annching Wang, and my work as a fashion designer and writer studies the intersect where aesthetic value and meaning meet. I’m just as enamored with fairy tales and breathtakingly beautiful couture as I am with the deeper issues connected to clothing, to do with people (self-love and self-expression), society (ethical labour practices), and the world (sustainability). If you are too, and are interested in freeing yourself to be authentic and live your values from the inside out, I welcome you to join the journey in the discovery and delight of meaningful fashion. | ![]() |

I've always been infatuated with the glamour and allure of fashion, but I've fought against it because it seemed at times, well, shallow. It wasn't until recently, when I started looking at my own relationship to clothing that I realized I had more power in my hands than I had given myself credit for. To truly love something we have to look past the surface, and that's when I became obsessed with digging deeper to see how aesthetic beauty could be more: transformative, positive, ethical, and inspiring. Now I'm just a regular girl trying to make a difference doing something I love. [ The Journal ]

McQueen and I: The Necessary Act of Inspired Design
Alexander McQueen was a superstar in the fashion world, catapulted to even greater heights at the news of his suicide in 2010, immediately after which sales of his eponymous brand went up 1400 percent. Design as a practical application of art needs to be proactive in creating the world of now and tomorrow, but in fashion it’s easy for design to be a laggard response to the world behind us instead. When I was in design school, the major emphasis and determinant for getting that A and succeeding as [...]
Does Trend Forecasting Really Matter?
I recently attended a trend forecasting seminar held by WGSN (Worth Global Style Network, one of the world’s leading trend-analysis and research service agencies) during the second season of Eco Fashion Week in Vancouver. Trend forecasting is something that although many people think that they can do, actually takes a great deal of acumen, and [...]
What fashion really means to me
As a child, I excelled naturally at many disciplines and felt unchallenged by what the education system brought me. I also came to the conclusion early on that our education system was flawed in producing a hierarchy of academics, shaped of course by the needs of society. I yearned to shape my own course, and [...]
A Design Manifesto
1. The world has enough junk. I will design with integrity, only creating/supporting products that I truly believe in. 2. I will think consciously about the decisions I make in regards to my company, which could have an impact on the environment. Beauty is not worth it if I’m destroying beauty elsewhere. 3. I understand [...]
